HIFON wanted to keep their overall identity similar, but they faced problems with scalability, printability, and more. We stepped in to help balance the logo: we adjusted the proportions so that the icon and text looked like they belong together. We thickened the lines in the design so that it scales better, and looks sturdier. Their ministry organizes a youth choir from all across the country each summer, and they put together a gospel-centered music program, and travel across the country to perform it. It is a great way to share the gospel to the world, and also a great way to help its choir members grow in their faith. We were asked to help with some of the branding & illustration for their 2023 tour. The theme we needed to visualize in our design was “The Way.” The result was used extensively on their online marketing, as well as with posters, t-shirts, and booklets for the tour itself. And before you ask - yes - the maze is definitely solvable. I was happy to help create signage and t-shirts to help identify volunteers for the 2022 event. As we progressed, we realized we wanted to also be more dilligent on educating the fundraiser attendees about where the proceeds were going, so we created posters and brochures to assist. Back when I was a student, Tri-C commissioned my class to suggest how we could update their brochures for all of their different degrees. These brochures were designed to give outlines and the class list for eac degree. (Oftentimes, there would be both a certificate and an associates degree offered for each major.) I suggested that we format all of them the exact same way. Associates Degrees always show a teal banner, and a Certificate always a pink banner.
